#278 The first day Annie returned to District 4, she went straight to her’ and Finnick’ secret spot in a hidden part of the beach. She brought with her a box of shells, and one by one cast them out into the ocean -as a present to Finnick. The little pale pink shell she picked up the first time they kissed. The white one from the day they first said I love you to each other. The long thin one she collected when Finnick was lifted out of the Quarter Quell, before the Capitol people came to collect her. A shell for every happy memory about Finnick. But she kept one, the beautiful, unique shell in the shape of a knot, in which Finnick had simply engraved “I love you”.
